Young cyclists ride new mountain bike track in Boksburg
The track is magnificently laid with gravel and obstacles to optimise the mountain biking experience.
Over 700 enthusiastic young cyclists paddled around the newly constructed 7.8km mountain bike park at Boksburg Stadium on July 28 during the Ekurhuleni leg of the Gauteng Schools Mountain Bike League.
The track is magnificently laid with gravel and obstacles to optimise the mountain biking experience. It will afford scores of mountain bikers and the community at large an opportunity to be able to practice and compete at the park.
Abi Braun from Hoërskool Kempton Park’s junior men’s team (Kempies MTB) was confident that his school team would take the lead in all categories.
“Our school has the best record in mountain biking and the track looks good. We have prepared well for this competition and I am sure we will walk away with good results,” said Abi.
The mountain bike park is now officially open to the public and can be used by making a booking with the booking clerk at Boksburg Customer Care Centre.
