Red Sox lose 10-6 to Edenvale Giants
Red Sox out-hit Giants 13 to 10, but it wasn't enough in a 10-6 loss on July 21.
Red Sox was beaten 10-6 by Edenvale Giants in a game played at Barnard Stadium on July 21.
Red Sox opened the scoring in the first inning. Fabio Sa’Miranda grounded out, scoring one run.
Red Sox held the lead until the top of the third.
Edenvale Giants scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning. Chris Bruyns and Cameron van Niekerk each had RBIs in this big inning. Two soft errors and an intentional walk didn’t go the way of Red Sox when two bean balls thereafter brought runs in for Giants.

Red Sox fought back with two runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead once again when Mark Pressly hit a double on a 1-1 count to right field, scoring two runs.
Giants took the lead for good with three runs in the fifth inning when Hein Robb tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs and Brad Erasmus singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Erasmus earned the win for Edenvale Giants. He allowed seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking zero. Pieter Fourie took the loss for Red Sox. He surrendered seven runs on five hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Red Sox launched one home run on the day. Clifford White had a solo homer in the third inning.
Red Sox tallied 13 hits in the game. White, Pressly, Dax Colby and Brandon Bouillon each racked up multiple hits for Red Sox. Pressly and White each collected three hits to lead Red Sox.
Giants scattered 10 hits in the game. Matt Teixeira and Erasmus all had multiple hits for the Giants.
