Entries are open for annual Tembisa Mile

The event offers a total prize purse of R55 000

The annual Tembisa Mile and 10km on Sunday, October 27, will start and finish at Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre next to Makhulong Stadium.

The race will start at 7am and the event is limited to 3 000 entries – 2 500 entries for the 10km and 500 for the mile.

The 10km is open to any person of 14 years and older, while the mile race is divided into the following categories: boys and girls under 10, 13, 15, 16-19, one mile walk and the invitational mile.

The registration fee for the 10km is R110 for athletics club members in possession of a valid 2019 running licence. Unlicensed athletes must pay R140 (R110 registration fee and R30 temporary licence fee). The mile registration fee is R50.

Registration can be done online at www.tembisamile.co.za. Race number collection and late registration will take place on October 26 at Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre from 10am until 06pm and on race day from 5am.

The event offers a total prize purse of R55 000.The winners, men and women, will take home R3 000. All race finishers will receive medals and SPAR goodie bags. Vitality members will earn 600 Vitality fitness points for completing the 10km.
