Academy rewards its top swimmers

A great team spirit pushed a proud team of Piranhas to swim their best times at the recent Eastern Gauteng Aquatics Short Course Winter Championships.
Piranhas had several top age group performers at this 2019 event.
Kyle McKenzie and Bernelee Doster swam 20 race pace events in two days, which is taxing on an athlete’s body.

Aquatic Academy recognised these top performances, awarding trophies for top seniors and juniors and point scorers.
First: Bernelee Doster (top senior girl): scored 191 points, won seven gold and three silver in the 10 events offered.
Second: Annebel van Wyk (top junior girl): scored 190 points, won seven gold, two silver and one bronze.
Third: Kyle McKenzie (top senior boy): scored 185 points, won five gold and five silver.
Fourth: Clayton Malaza: scored 154 points, won two and three bronze.
Fifth: Mikayla Pon: scored 137.5 points, won two bronze. She swam in the top five in most of her events, scoring these points for the club.
Francois Alers (top junior boy): scored 92 points, finaling in nine out of the 10 events he entered.
Storm Ryder: one silver and two bronze.
