Highlands Park will host Polokwane City at home on Sunday
City lead the pack with 13 points after nine games
Highlands Park will be looking to use their home ground advantage to their benefit when they take on Polokwane City on Sunday.
These two improving teams will meet in the Absa Premiership encounter at the Makhulong Stadium.
Kick off is at 3pm.
Both teams come to this fixture oozing with confidence having registered impressive wins over the weekend.
The home team, fondly known as the Lions of the North, recorded a hard fought 2 – 1 victory over Baroka FC on Sunday.
This win saw them earn the 8th spot on the Premiership ladder, with eight points.
Equally, Polokwane City come from from an impressive 3 – 1 victory against Supersport United.
The win secured them a top spot on the log, replacing early log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs, who enjoyed a two-month stint on the summit.
City lead the pack with 13 points after nine games. A win against the home team will see them consolidate their log leadership.
Highlands Park spokesperson Sbonelo Ngidi has pleaded with the local soccer lovers to come and fill the ‘slaughter house’ to the brim.
“Without the support of our community, there would be no Highlands Park. It is for this reason that we would like to appeal to every soccer fanatic to come and cheer the boys on as they take on Polokwane City. We want to stress that this team represents the entire Ekurhuleni, and it is therefore important that soccer lovers of this city show their support so we can grow the club into one of the giants in the Premiership for years to come,” said Ngidi.
