All are set for annual Tembisa Mile

Race number collection and late registration will take place on October 26.

Three-thousand runners will take to the streets of Tembisa on October 27 for the annual edition of the SPAR Tembisa Mile and 10km road race.

Two-thousand-five-hundred will take part in the 10km and 500 runners will line up in the one mile race.

The race will commence at Makhulong Stadium on Star Street, turn left into Skylab Street, left into Jabu Mdunge Street, right into RTJ Namane Drive and left into Andrew Mapheto Drive at Ebuhleni Golf Club.

From there it will proceed on Andrew Mapheto, past the fire station and Tembisa High School to the junction with Metis Street. Runners will left at Metis Street, left into RTJ Namane Drive and left into Star street to the finish line opposite Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre.

Race number collection and late registration will take place on October 26 at the race venue from 10am to 6pm and on race day from 5am to 6.50am.

The registration fee for the 10km race is R110 for athletes in possession of a valid 2019 running licence. The temporary licence fee for those without a licence is R140.

Online registration closes at midnight on October 20. Online registration can be done at www.tembisamile.co.za .

The registration fee for mile (about 1.6km) for boys and girls under 10, 13, 15 and 19 is R50.

The race will start at 7am.
