Ruan bowls Kempton premier side to easy victory

Kempton Park Cricket Club’s premier side beat Tembisa by 172 at the weekend.

Ruan Jansen van Rensburg ripped through the Tembisan batsmen, taking 7/18 in 6.4 overs. This brilliant spell of bowling, assisted by Sarel Myburgh (2/25), had Tembisa back in the pavilion for only 61 runs, after Kempton had scored 233/10.

Breidon Hicks made 49 and Marius Lubbe 47.

The premier reserve team also faced Tembisa, beating them by 61 runs.

Kempton scores 222/4 in their 50 overs, with Johan Maritz out on 99 from the last ball. Ruan Kotze made 62.

Tembisa were bowled out for 161, with Travis Lakin taking 4/21 and Nico Pieters 3/25.

Hassan Ali scored 100* in the executive team’s seven-wicket victory over Vosloorus.

Vosloorus scored 216/6, with Asad Abaas taking two wickets. Kempton replied with 219/3. Waqas Waheed had the second best score with 41*.

The Kempton second team beat Reiger Park by four wickets. Lou Badenhorst, Keegan Klue and Jurie van Vuuren picked up two wickets each to restrict Reiger Park to 127. Don Mackay led the chase with 42*.

The directors side beat Bedfordview by 148 runs. Batting first, Kempton scored 274 all out with Wynand Steyn (86) and Pranav (51). Bedfordview was bowled out for 126.

Adrien Griesel took 3/27, Farai Moyo 2/30 and Cyril Harbor 2/6.

The senior women’s team’s match against Kwathema rained out after only eight over being played.

U-10 Carnival 3 lost against United by 131 runs. Man of the match Emille Wolff 7*, Tim Ling 3/19.

U-10 Markingham lost to Boksburg by 4 wickets. Kempton 120/10. Boksburg 121/6. Man of the Match Jenson 46 and 2/14.

U-12 Impala lost to Benoni by 23 runs. Daniel Stevens 2/14, Tino Mutekwa 2/20, man of the match Marko Richter 48.
