Highlands Park to travel to the Mother City this weekend

He said the team is still on track with their mandate of finishing the season in a more decent position

Highlands Park will be traveling to the Mother City this weekend where they have a tough date against the stubborn Cape Town City.

Scheduled for 6pm at the Newlands Stadium on Saturday, the home team will be looking to redeem themselves after some poor showing in their last few games.

The Lions of the North were held to a one-all draw at home on Tuesday night by Bidvest Wits and are now in desperate need to start collecting maximum points.

“We are going to Cape Town with our heads held high and we are hoping to come back with all three points or at least get a point out of this match,” said Highlands Park spokesman Sibonelo Ngidi.

He said the team is still on track with their mandate of finishing the season in a more decent position and keep their Premiership status.

“I believe the team is doing well and we are on track with finishing the season within the top eight bracket and earn a spot in the MTN8 competition just like we did earlier in the year. Yes, we may be dropping points here and there but as long as we are not losing, I believe we will be fine and we will achieve our goal,” said Ngidi.

He further pleaded with team supporters to consider travelling with them to the Mother City citing that they will need all the support they can get.
