Metsing FC suffers 3-1 loss
The coach of the winning side, Kenny Boshomane, said they played very well
Metsing FC suffered a 3-1 defeat against Mount Kenya FC during the Masters Top Four Street Tournament at Ivory Park Kopanong Sports Ground on November 24.
The tournament was specially organised for legend ‘masters’ in street football. The occasion saw teams from different areas coming to compete. The winning team was from Extension 45, Clayville.
The first goal was scored by Mount Kenya from a stunner of a free kick before Metsing came to equalise, forcing the game to go on a 1-1 half-time score. In the second half, Mount Kenya scored two goals to secure a 3-1 victory.
Metsing FC coach Mashia ‘Mash’ Motimele said they had a nice game, but the signs if fatigue were starting to show as they had no time for training.
“The opposing team was strong in the middle and we couldn’t contain them. They had two string men forward and they troubled our defence. Second half, we lost due to our mistakes and we were punished for them,” said Motimele.
The coach of the winning side, Kenny Boshomane, said they played very well, maintaining their positions by neutralising the ball in the middle of the field.
“After the 1-1 half-time score, we had to make valuable substitutions in the second half, which benefited us at the end because we manged to get two goals and secured a victory,” said Boshomane.
“We would like to encourage others to engage in sport activities no matter the age because it helps to boost mental health and helps gain stamina,” added Boshomane.
