Highlands Park to play final match of the year against Golden Arrows

Highlands Park to play final game at Makhulong.

Highlands Park will play their final league game of the year against Golden Arrows on December 14 at the Makhulong Stadium at 3.30pm.

The Lions of the North are currently in seventh position on the Absa Premiership log. They have already played 14 games and have collected 17 points, leaving them in a good position to finish this season in the top eight.

Owen da Gama’s troops are coming to this weekend’s encounter knowing full well they cannot afford to drop the ball because the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit is currently on fire in fourth position, with 20 points.

“It’s really going to be a tough game, but we have to work extra hard and win this one for our supporters, as an early Christmas present. I think we owe them that much, having been behind the team since the season kicked off in August,” said Highlands Park’s spokesperson, Sibonelo Ngidi.

Highlands Park will start the new year with a match at home against Black Leopards on January 5. Shortly after that they travel to Johannesburg for a date against log leaders Kaizer Chiefs on January 8.
