Tembisa Sports Confederation hosts first workshop
The workshop adopted the format of the Sports Awards and approved the samples presented at the gathering
The Tembisa Sports Confederation hosted its first workshop of the new year, where a number of resolutions were adopted.
This workshop, which was the second ever to be hosted since the establishment of this sporting confederation, caught the attention of a number of sporting codes, such as street soccer, karate, netball, swimming and boxing.
Speaking to this paper after the session, the confederation’s president, sensei Paul Sehlabelo, said one of their resolutions is to go out and source funding to help sponsor some of their programmes.
“The workshop adopted the format of the Sports Awards and approved the samples presented at the gathering.

“It was agreed upon that all clubs and federations which are part of the Tembisa Sports Confederations will fill in forms of consent and affiliation by the end of the current month to establish a database,” he said.
“The confederation’s secretary will be semi-full time and will be at the centre for the day-to-day running of the confederation, with a stipend allocated for administration and travel.
“To help us meet some if not all of our targets, the executive will go all out to source sponsorships to meet all our programmes.
“The executive committee is now fully functional and committed to the task at hand and all the sporting codes that participate in the confederation are well represented in the executive committee,” he continued.
He said the implementation plans until their next workshop, which is scheduled for March, are to ensure that both the confederation’s president and secretary meet with potential sponsors and donors.
“The vice president and coaches commission are to visit and meet with sporting codes that are not yet affiliated with the confederation,” he said.
Lastly, he said they will work tirelessly for the unity of sports in Tembisa, promote social cohesion, accountability and transparency and to push the agenda of women in sports and those living with disabilities.
