ANC Ward 14 hosts fun walk in Emfihlweni

So far the response had been great and it has exceeded their expectation

The ANC Ward 14 started hosting a 5km fun walk and imvuselelo on February 22 in Emfihlweni, Thembisa, to raise funds for food parcels to be given to disadvantaged families.

On March 7, they took their campaign to Liliba section. Both campaigns were established by Buddy Ndhlovu, Glen Semenya and Emfihlweni district. The fun walk takes place every Saturday until the end of March.

“Both campaigns are for us to raise as much funds as we can to lend a helping hand and to give back to the community, and to basically encourage a healthy lifestyle with our community,” said Semenya.

Semenya explained that so far the response had been great and it has exceeded their expectation. He said that he is thankful to those who participated.

“We request the community and business owners to come forward and contribute not only in terms of monetary funds, but also food parcels and clothes,” added Semenya.

He called on to those who have not yet participated in the campaigns to do so. Semenya said people should get on board in terms of donations since it will benefit the community of Emfihlweni.

“Your sponsorship and support would help us immensely in our noble attempt,” said Semenya.

Semenya added that the more sponsorship they get the better. He said there are already sponsors who have come to their aid, but they are still looking for more sponsors.

“We already have sponsors who are on board with us. These include VH bottle store, Sipho and Mary bakery and Lukhele décor and catering. We would still appreciate if we could get more sponsors to help,” added Semenya.
