Traffic towards Midrand stays a nightmare
Is this really what the traffic department's code of conduct stands for?

Please someone, enlighten us who care about law and order on Ekurhuleni’s roads.
Zuurfontein Road, from Kempton Park to Tembisa, and the slip road onwards (Allandale) to Midrand and back in the afternoon (Carstenhof Clinic) is terrible.
Every day of our lives there is such horrific chaos on this road from Kempton Park to Midrand. Mornings and afternoons. This happens every day and just gets worse.
Taxi drivers and others following in their footsteps, block and obstruct traffic, pushing people off the road just to get to their destinations first.
When will something be done about this?
As soon as the offenders see a metro police vehicle, they quickly try to get back in line. That shows they know they are in the wrong. We need more visibility on Zuurfontein and Allandale roads in the morning and afternoon during rush-hour times.
Weeks pass when there are no metro police vehicles in sight.
Is this really what the traffic department’s code of conduct stands for? What is the function of the metro police service?
Besides dealing with day-to-day crime, the metro police fulfil some specialist functions not covered by the police, including policing road traffic.
