Choral music lovers, prepare for a melodic feast at Melting Pot festival
The country's top 10 choirs are expected to mesmerise the audiences as they compete for the number one spot
IF you’re a choral music lover, you’ll definitely want to make it to this year’s choral music festival.
The metro is set to deliver yet another spectacular Ekurhuleni Melting Pot Choral Festival in celebration of Oliver Reginald Tambo’s life, who was an ardent chorister.
This Saturday and Sunday, Carnival City’s Big Top Arena will be filled to the brim by choral music lovers to indulge in this year’s instalment of the much-loved festival.
The country’s top 10 choirs are expected to mesmerise the audiences as they compete for the number one spot.
The choirs set to take to the stage include:
*Voice of the Nation;
*Bagale Chorus;
*His Majesty Choir (Swaziland);
*Gauteng Choristers;
*Zwelitsha;
*Heavenly Voices;
*Serumula (Lesotho);
*African Chorus;
*SA Singers; and the
*Transnet Port Terminals.
All of these choirs will be accompanied by the renowned KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.
This year’s edition of the festival will see the overall winner of the Ekurhuleni Choral Competition, the Vosloorus Twelve Apostolic Church of Christ choir, share the stage with industry giants as a guest performer over the weekend.
The musical feast will also feature the likes of Black Coffee, Nathi and Zakes Bantwini who promise to keep the audience entertained.
The Ekurhuleni Melting Pot Choral Festival will take place this weekend, from 9am, at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena, in Brakpan.
