Visit Asia on a budget

Asia is filled with some of the most affordable destinations for travel in the world, especially for travellers from South Africa.

Highlights of Cambodia.

Cambodia borders Thailand but on the whole it is a slightly cheaper place to travel, while still offering some amazing sights and attractions. By far, the main attraction in Cambodia is the stunning Angkor Wat in the town of Siem Reap. This is the location for the hit movie Tomb Raider but its history goes way back far back.

The elaborately carved palaces and temples are impressive in their stature and detail. The whole complex is huge and takes days to explore thoroughly. Other highlights of this intriguing country include a trip down the Mekong River and the sights and sounds of bustling Phnom Penh.

As Cambodia is popular with backpackers and budget travellers, you will find a lot of affordable accommodation in cheap guest houses and hostels. On the coast there are rustic cabanas and beach houses to enjoy.

Impressive India.

India is one of the most amazing places you will visit in the world. Bustling and crazy busy on one hand, spiritual and calm on the other, India is a mass of contradictions and a true assault on the senses. You have a range of wonderful cities to visit in India as well as many different natural landmarks and some excellent beaches. The country has a rich interesting history, culture, and the temples and monuments are a sight to behold .

India represents great value for the South African traveller as the Rupee is weak against the Rand. You will find that you can eat out at great restaurants, travel around by taxi and take some interesting tours without going over budget.
