Drink from songbird’s cup of magical music
Soweto born and bred Mpanza's music fuses together encouraging afro-soul sounds with some gospel music influences
JOZI Unsigned presents “Unearthed”, a seasonal showcase of the finest up-and-coming talent our country has to offer.
For the second edition of this Concerts SA-supported event, they will be bringing the talents of mesmerising vocalist Pamela Mpanza to audiences in Ekurhuleni.
Watch this songbird perform and drink from her cup of magical music this Saturday, in Dawn Park, Boksburg.
Soweto-born and bred Mpanza’s music fuses encouraging afro-soul sounds with some gospel music influences, with her mood-lifting vocal chords taking the lead.
Mpanza first discovered her voice and passion for music at the age of 12, while she was still in primary school.
She explored this interest further by singing in church and, eventually, for the Gauteng Legislature Choir.
Mpanza went on to join forces with Andile Finca, and they started a band called “Family” and established a record label together.
With Finca as producer and guitarist, they created a masterful body of work, which can be heard on Mpanza’s debut album, which is to be released soon.
The performance will take place on Saturday (May 28), at the Da Dawn Restaurant & Lounge, on the corner of Hassink and Galahad Road, in Dawn Park.
Doors will open at 7.30pm on the night and Mpanza will be on stage at 9pm. Entrance to the event is free of charge.
Listen to Mpanza’s new single, “Zazi”, which has already been listened to more than 170 times on SoundCloud.
