Book for bat walk in Modderfontein Reserve

The event is open to the public and families are encouraged to come along

THE Bat Interest Group (BIG), in association with Modderfontein Conservation Society, is organising a bat talk and walk at the Old Magazine in Modderfontein Reserve on November 11.

The talk will dispel the old-wives’ tales, fears and superstitions many people harbour regarding these hard-working and useful little creatures.

The event kicks off at 5pm with a talk and introduction to the wonderful world of bats. This will be followed by a walk with a bat expert using a bat detector to check out what bats are present.

The event is open to the public and families are encouraged to come along and join in. Anyone wanting to attend is advised to bring along a chair, snacks, torch, walking shoes and warm clothing. There will be a charge of R60 for adults and R20 for children, for conservation.

Booking is essential and can be done by WhatsApp 082 813 9611 or text Pat on 083 326 6838 – with the number of adults and children attending.
