Tembisa hosts its own first ever wine festival

Tembisa Wine Festival is set to be the first wine festival to be staged in the heart of Tembisa.

Tembisa residents will see their first ever wine festival to be hosted in the second biggest township in South Africa on December 9 and December 10.

Co-organiser Kgaogelo Makola said the two-day event will give Tembisans an opportunity to taste and sample over 40 different wines.

“People who attend the Tembisa wine festival will get free wine education and gather more information on wines.

“We will also have a cider garden and cocktails for those who love their sundowners.

“Gourmet food will be served by local chefs and there will also be fashion, photography and furniture showcased on the second day of the event. Tembisans will enjoy live music from local DJ’s and bands,” said Makola.

On Saturday, headliners are Morena the Squire and on Sunday Metro FM’s Msizi Shembe.

Makola said no under 18’s will be allowed on the event’s premises and no cooler bags will be let in.

The event will take place at Moses Molelekwa Arts centre from 12pm until late into the evening.
