CamSnash’s time has finally come

Tembisa lad hopes to put Tembisa on the map.

CamSnash finally released the much-awaited solo album, Calendar, at Moses Molelekwa Art Centre on April 07.

The Boston Business College graduate said the event was supported by family, friends and loyal fans.

He said people who were featured in the album were also part of the line-up of artists who performed live at the event.

CamSnash said songs in the album talk to all age groups and some of the songs were recorded with live bands to appeal to lovers of jazz and gospel.

“The album is titled Calendar because I believe this my season.

“Due to my love for music, I wanted to create a legacy through this album and I wanted to deliver something that resonates with Tembisa’s residents,” CamSnash said.

There’s a song titled Quantum which caters for lovers of gqom and house music.

He said there are trap songs that cater for the young generation.

“We have hardcore hip-hop songs that speak to the underground hip-hop fans.

There’s an Afro-soul hip-hop song called Geza ngothando.

The Tembisa anthem called Mambican Flavor is a song dedicated to all Tembisa residents as it maps out Tembisa as a whole,” CamSnash added.

He said he hoped the album will open doors in his music career and put Tembisa on the map.

“The long-awaited album is finally here; let us support it.

CamSnash is not a novice in the music scene as he was part of a group called Born for the Mic – a name that resulted from one of their popular songs.

CamSnash was introduced to hip-hop music by his friend Sabelo Ngwenya who made him listen to Mkhukhu Function from the Squatter Camp group.

He got inspired and teamed up with a friend to establish a group called Fusion and that group later became known as Born for the Mic.

In 2015 he ventured into creating a solo album and wants to make sure that he does not disappoint his fans.
