It is time again for the annual Pam Vermont Memorial Quiz
There will be 100 questions to be answered by teams of five
Modderfontein Conservation Society’s highly successful Pam Vermont Memorial Quiz will take place in Modderfontein Town Hall on July 19, starting at 7.30pm.
The annual quiz is one of the society’s highlights of the year and members of the society’s committee will supply some winter warmth pancakes and hot chocolate for a post quiz gathering.
The quiz remembers Pam Vermont who passed away in August 2013. Mrs Vermont and husband Robbie had organised the quiz from its inception in 2003. It was previously known as Pam’s Quiz.
“The quiz has a general knowledge theme,” Robbie says. “The questions cover a wide variety of subjects from science and current affairs to plants, fish and birds. They are mostly easy, but some are a bit more testing so that a winner will emerge.”
There will be 100 questions to be answered by teams of five. Bring a team or simply join up with other like-minded folk for a fun evening.
“Lively debate and discussion is expected as the answers to the questions are revealed,” says Robbie, who adds a reminder to bring pens, pencils and, perhaps, some scrap paper. He also suggests dressing warmly.
Visitors are welcome. There is a nominal R30 charge at the door to help cover expenses.
