Locals invited to a street food market on Saturday

This family-friendly event aims to bridge the gap between industry leaders and young entrepreneurs

Street Food Market will be hosting a Women’s Month Food Market event to be held at Mehlareng Stadium on August 4.

Gates are to open at 12 noon and the event to start at 1pm.

According to the event organiser, Thabo Maruma, the August Women’s Month edition of the street food market is all about celebrating young women in business.

“This family-friendly event aims to bridge the gap between industry leaders and young entrepreneurs. The Street Food Market is a fresh, engaging and highly interactive food and music market,” said Maruma.

Maruma added the day will kick off with a stakeholder breakfast, where industry leaders will meet female professionals and entrepreneurs based in townships, then later heat things up with electrifying performances by Cassper Nyovest, Sho Madjozi, Babes Wodumo, Nadia Nakai, Thabsie, KidX and all local female deejays lineup and many more.

“Come and join us for a day that’s jam-packed with advice from established entrepreneurs, good food, drinks and entertainment from some of SA’s finest musicians. The Street Food Market is a chance to engage with like-minded people, bridge the gap between young and esteemed business owners, all while having a great time,” said Maruma.

There will be entertaining activations by ENO and Renault as event sponsors.

Tickets are available at Computicket at a prize of R50.

Alternatively, people can purchase tickets at the gate at the prize of R80.
