Garden of Lights returns to Emperors Palace for an 11th time

For the first time in South Africa, illusionist Ryan Sharp will present his show, The Magic of Christmas, from November 30 to January 2.

Emperors Palace is getting ready to host its 11th annual Garden of Lights between November 30 and January 2.

The Garden of Lights in the gardens of the Peermont D’oreale Grande Hotel was created to spread festive cheer through spectacular light displays, colourful characters, funfair rides and delicious food offerings.

“Over the years, the Garden of Lights has welcomed over 1.4 million visitors,” said Clive Tavener, general manager for Emperors Palace.

Visitors to the Garden of Lights will be delighted to know that proceeds from their entrance fee will be donated to Reach for a Dream and the Peermont Children’s and Education Trusts.

And in celebration of the resort’s 20th birthday, a further R200 000 will be donated to 20 charities that its employees support.

Children will also have an opportunity to take pictures with Santa Claus, the Enchanted Fairy, Gift the Present, the Gingerbread Man, Frosty the Snowman, Santa’s Special Elves and Emperors Palace’s very own beautiful Garden Princess.

Explore the Enchanted Garden filled with spell-binding secrets and delightful surprises before skipping over to the Mystic Castle and Magic Sweet Shop, where a selection of the yummiest treats can be purchased. Don’t forget to take a stroll to the North Pole for a peek into Santa’s workshop.

The Garden of Lights will also feature a variety of funfair rides, including Jump and Smile, Break Dancer, Freeway Fantasy, Pirate Ship and everyone’s all-time favourite, the big Ferris Wheel (from December 3 only).
