The search is on for Ekurhuleni’s top gospel star
All non-recording gospel artists are called to audition and stand a chance to win an opportunity of a lifetime, valued at R150 000.

Is gospel music your first love? Do you have stage presence and are you an Ekurhuleni resident between the ages of 18 and 30?
Then you might just be next in line to be crowned the best at the first All White Gospel Picnic’s music talent search.
On September 26, the City of Ekurhuleni, in partnership with the All White Gospel Picnic festival organisers, will host a talent search at Germiston Theatre to unearth the next big gospel star.
The talent search is a precursor to the annual All White Gospel Picnic, which is a family-friendly outdoor celebration scheduled to take place on November 2 at Carnival City.
All non-recording gospel artists are called to audition and stand a chance to win an opportunity of a lifetime, valued at R150 000. The big prize will include studio recording time, a music video and mentorship from industry leaders.
Ekurhuleni’s MMC for community services Clr Nomadlozi Nkosi said: “As a City we are excited by the opportunity afforded to our young people to showcase their talent on stage, with the aim of assisting them to become the next big gospel sensation. We hope all eligible young people can take advantage of this amazing life-changing opportunity.”
On the judging panel will be some of the industry’s great acts such as, Zaza Mokheti, Kholeka Dubula, representatives from Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO), composers, authors and Publishers Association of South Africa, as well as Sheer Publishing.
Auditions will start at 8am at Germiston Theatre on President Street in Germiston.
