Laerskool Impala wins Harvest Place Pigeon Race
Laerskool Impala won the pigeon race campaign from Harvest Place and the winning class was Grade 1/9 received a prize.
Laerskool Impala’s Grade 1/9 class has flown to victory in Harvest Place’s Pigeon Race campaign, with the winning class receiving its prizes on September 3.
The Pigeon Race is a community campaign that lets shoppers support local schools by turning their everyday till slips into entries.
To participate, shoppers write their child’s school and class on the back of their till slip before placing it in the designated pigeonhole at Harvest Place.

The school with the most entries wins the competition.
This year, Laerskool Impala came out on top, with the Grade 1/9 class earning the winning spot.
Each learner in the winning class received R150 to spend at any shop at Harvest Place, as well as a beverage from one of the centre’s restaurants.
The winning school also received a R2 000 gift voucher, which can be spent at any shop in the shopping centre.
The prizes were presented to the winning class at Harvest Place on September 3.
The campaign highlights how a simple everyday shopping trip can help local schools while allowing learners to enjoy a well-earned reward.
