Breaking news: Armed robbery at MTN in Phalaborwa

An armed robbery took place at MTN Phalaborwa on Friday afternoon.

By 14:30 the shop was still closed to the public as police was still taking statements.

According to Marriet Mankba, manager at the store two armed robbers came into the shop some time after 12:00.
No shots were fired, but the staff were robbed of their personal cell phones. According to reports, no other items were taken.
The staff were too traumatised to give any more details to the press.
The shop remains closed for the afternoon and it is not clear when the shop will be reopened to the public.
