Bassfishing, Protea captain visits Tzaneen

The captain of the national (Protea) bass fishing squad, Craig Frazer, visited Tzaneen last Thursday and spent the evening with members of the local Letaba Bassmasters chapter, as part of the Protea squad's preparations for the upcoming test series against Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia and Mozambique.

The members of Letaba Bassmasters know the Nandoni dam where the international fishing will take place (between 19 and 24 June) very well and helped Frazer with some tips and information on conditions at the dam.

Frazer also told the Herald he was very impressed with the way the Letaba Bassmasters pulled together to help local youngster Imke Geldenhuys in her battle with cancer.

“I travel across the country and seeing a chapter pulling together like this is indeed a rare occurance,” Craig Frazer told the Herald.
