The South African Weather Service predicts a drop in temperature over the weekend with a possibility of rain for Tzaneen.

Cold front temperatures set to drop into the teens this weekend in Gauteng.

The South African Weather Service has warned Johannesburg residents to prepare for a significant drop in temperatures this weekend as a cold front sweeps in.

It is reported that temperatures will drop into the teens from Friday evening and only return to the mid-twenties from Tuesday.

In addition to the cold weather, the weather service has warned of severe thunderstorms with strong winds, hail and heavy downpours are possible over Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, Johannesburg, Mogale and Lesedi, which may lead to localised flooding the Germiston City News reported.
