UPDATE: Four injured in accident on R36 outside Tzaneen

Two cars collided on the R36 outside Tzaneen earlier today.

Four people were injured this afternoon, one critically, after a taxi ‘t-boned’ a light motor vehicle on the R36 outside Tzaneen

‘The light motor had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision. On closer inspection, paramedics found four patients on the scene. All of these had already been pulled out from the taxi and light motor vehicle. Assessments showed that one man had sustained critical injuries while the other three had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to nearby facilities for urgent care. The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations,’ ER24 said in a statement.

According to information one person sustained serious injuries, another sustained moderate injuries , and two people sustained  light injuries.

They were transported to various hospitals in the Tzaneen area.

It is unclear what the cause of the accident was.

Authorities were on the scene and investigations will be done.
