ZZ2: Tons of tomatoes top record books

The largest total ZZ2 harvest in one day made history on Monday.

Records are there to be broken and in ZZ2’s case, a bout of excellent tomato growing weather in the spring production area of Mooketsi led to the largest total harvest in one day in ZZ2’s history on October 17.

A whopping 845 tons of tomatoes were delivered to 10 national fresh produce markets countrywide.

It took 28 interlink and refrigerated trucks to carry this offering to consumers via the market.

To put it in perspective, the total harvest of 845 tons can be compared to 211 average weight African elephants all together or 676 Toyota Corrola’s.

He says tomato, she said tamato. ZZ2 says 845 tons of tomatoes…
