TZANEEN: Lights out on Christmas day

The lost of transformers seems to be the problem why most areas around town are without electricity since yesterday.

‘…I think it is ridiculous that it is off for so long and no one is doing anything about it,’ a frustrated resident said.

Flip Schutte, posted the following on The Tzaneen Loadshedding Facebook page:

“After many calls and messages I managed to get some info for you as members.
1. Sam Lelope is the Acting Director Electrical.
2. Middelkop sub, Pusella sub and Grannor Passie sub is out. We lost the transformers.
3. Apparently as soon as one line on the Eiland side is fixed, another falls down.
4. The Electrician attending to Magoebaskloof has a problem with his vehicle.
5. Only 3 electricians are working. We also have a vehicle problem.
6.  Pusella will be on. Hopefully all goes well by 11:00 am today.” (Monday December 26)

Schutte urged the community to: ‘Please help each other as a community by reporting problems when coming through. Ask what is the problem and comment on this post helping each other. I will only be back on January 9.’

The contact numbers for the power station are: 082 679 0720, 082 679 0794.
