Tzaneen’s Coca-Cola depot closing down

The Coca-Cola depot in Tzaneen has officially closed down.

This comes after Coca-Cola Beverages SA (CCBSA) announced that it will be closing five of its SA sites, including the depot in Tzaneen.

According to Public Affairs and Communications Manager, Pirtunia Dhlamini, they are in the final stages of consultation with their employees with regards to anticipated labour redeployments resulting from the planned closure of their Tzaneen depot effective March 6.

“While it is always a difficult decision to decommission operating sites, CCBSA continuously identifies ways in which to proactively optimise our operations to create sustainable opportunities for our employees, while we ensure the best possible customer service and consumer satisfaction,” said Dhlamini.

She further said: “The 90 affected employees in Tzaneen will be redeployed to Polokwane and Tzaneen sales offices,” she added.

“In addition, as part of our Local Distribution Partner (LDP) programme, we will be working with local entrepreneurs to establish distribution services by converting existing distribution partners to LDPs. So, the markets currently serviced out of Tzaneen will in future be fully supplied and serviced from Polokwane as well as by LDP’s.
