Hard working officers awarded in Bolobedu

Bolobedu police hosted a team building and a prestigious awards ceremony at Ga-Maphalle village on Thursday.

The awards were aimed at honouring officers who go beyond the call of duty and also to motivate other officers to work harder.

The station commander, Colonel David Mahlaola, said that through the officers’ hard work crime has declined.

“Under my leadership, no community will protest for poor service delivery,” added Mahlaola.

Community Police Forum Chairperson, Thomas Lebopa said their wish is to see Bolobedu be a crime free area.

The cluster commander, Major General Maggy Mathebula, said the day was not to do any talking as the certificates and trophies have spoken for the recipients. She also thanked Mahlaola for being the first station commander to host such a prestigious event for his members. “This is encouraging to other members. Thank you Bolobedu police for working very hard,” said Mathebula.

The event was attended by the local chief, retired officers, representatives from Business Against Crime, local business people, representatives from Youth Against Crime and ward councillor.
