For those who don’t know- Tzaneen has been selected as one of the top three Limpopo semifinalists in Kwêla’s popular Town of the Year competition on KykNet.

The race is on against Bela-Bela (Warmbaths) and Modimole (Nylstroom).

All residents are called to stand together and vote before Tuesday (March 14) to make it to the finals.

Grab your phone and spread the word – let’s make Tzaneen proud.

Lines are open until 12:00 on Tuesday for the first round’s vote.

A maximum of 30 entries from each number at R1.50 per SMS are allowed.

Simply SMS ‘Tzaneen’ to 33157.

How the competition works:

The three towns with the most votes in every region go through to the semifinals (on March 8, 15 and 22). Tzaneen made it to the top 3.

The public have one week for every round to vote for their favourite town.

Kwêla will televise a full feature on each one of the 9 finalists.

Once each town finalists have been broadcasted, lines will open from the 24th of May (20:30) to the 30th (12:00) for the final votes.

The winner will be announced on June 7 as the Town of the Year, and will receive 1 million rands worth of KykNet marketing, as well as a 30 second advertisement by Homebrew Films to be aired in KykNet’s advert slots.

A celebration festival will be hosted in the winning town – food, fun and entertainment – which will also be broadcasted by Kwêla later this year.

Let’s get voting!
