Successful arrests for Acornhoek police

The Acornhoek police received a tip-off on July 11, that Lebokgang Mashego (31) was arrested in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

“We were told that the man was at his girlfriend’s place where we found a 9mm pistol in his pocket. The man was arrested and investigations are still continuing, stated constable Mxolisi Ndlovu,

Meanwhile a 54 year old man identified as Checkboy Malatjie was arrested by the Acornhoek police following a burglary that took place in Buffelshoek on July 11.

“The police acted on a tip-off that resulted in the search of a house where two tables and chairs, staple gun, tuber nails, route Bosch and sander were positively identified as the stolen property”, Ndlovu told the Herald.

The man will soon appear in court.
