UPDATE: Suspects in possession of pangolin remanded in custody

The Pangolin was taken to an animal enclosure in Hoedspruit.

‘The five (05) suspects which were arrested for Possession of protected species in Hoedspruit ,have appeared before the Hoedspruit Magistrate  court and they were remanded in custody with no bail until August 3 for a formal bail application and for further Police investigations,’ according to the police.

The suspects are from Malamulele near Giyani ,Lulekani near Phalaborwa and Tzaneen and they were identified as follows :

* Mahlatsi Machimane aged 26.

* Robert Baloyi aged 52.

* Lucky Hlungwane aged 26.

* Elvis Mhlongo aged 36.

* Martin Baloyi aged 26.
