Total blackout on Sunday due to power cut!

The Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM) informs the public of electricity disruptions which will take place this Sunday October 22.

“This is due to maintenance work that will be done at our main substation. The disruption will start at 04:30 and is expected to last the entire day,” explained Neville Ndlala, GTM Spokesperson.

Residents are adviced to switch off all electrical appliances to avoid damage that may arise due to the disruption.

“The following areas will be affected, the whole of Tzaneen, Nkowankowa, Lenyenye, Haenertsburg, Muhlava, Politsi, Petanenge, Gavaza, and surrounding areas,” added Ndlala.

Doris Selepe, Manager of Maintenance and Operating Environment, Eskom Giyani Sector, also confirmed to Letaba Herald that the disruptions will indeed take place.

“They will be replacing faulty equipment on GTM’s main substation which will require that all the other substations be switched off for safety,” said Selepe.
