TZANEEN: Suspect wanted in garage bombings

The police have launched a manhunt for one of the men believed to be behind the recent petrol stations robberies in the Tzaneen and Polokwane areas.

“The police task team has identified Boitumelo Daniel Aphane also known as ‘AKA Small’ and it is believed that he could be hiding in the Pretoria CBD, Mamelodi in Gauteng or in Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga province,” explained Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Police spokesperson.

In the past two weeks, two Tzaneen petrol stations were robbed. The same modus operandi was used in both cases; a group of men came in wearing balaclavas, bombed the safe and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money. A cash-in-transit heist also took place on February 2, at Khujwana Village outside Tzaneen.

In all of these instances, a white BMW car was associated with the crime.

Police appeal to anyone with information which can lead to the suspect’s arrest, to contact Captain Richard Boshomane on 079 894 5501 or the Crimeline on 08600 10111 0r the SMS line on 32211.
