GIYANI: Massive manhunt for escaped prisoners

Police in Malamulele near Giyani have launched a massive manhunt for the three escaped awaiting trial prisoners who escaped in the early hours of this morning.

It is alleged that on Sunday at about 01:30, the police officers who were on duty heard a loud bang of the cell doors and they reacted speedily and on arrival, they found that three prisoners had escaped through the roof of the cell which was cut off.

These escapees were identified as follows: Mashangu Chauke (30) who was arrested for assault GBH, Denveries Mabasa (32) who was arrested for attempted rape, Raymond Chauke (33) who was arrested for the murder.

The police investigations on the circumstances around this incident are still continuing.
