TZANEEN: Woman left seriously injured after SUV plunges down embankment

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene at approximately 08:00 after members of the public had spotted the vehicle lying in the bushes.

A woman was left seriously injured when her vehicle crashed down an embankment off the R529 outside of Tzaneen Thursday 29 March, according to ER24.

“ER24 paramedics were called to the scene at approximately 08:00 after members of the public had spotted the vehicle lying in the bushes. It is believed that the incident had occurred earlier in the morning,’ ER24 said.

Upon arrival, paramedics found an SUV lying at the bottom of an embankment amongst some trees.

Paramedics made their way to the vehicle where they found a woman lying inside the vehicle.

The woman was assessed and found to have sustained injuries to her head and back, leaving her in a serious condition.

Paramedics carefully extricated the woman from the vehicle, treated her and provided her with pain-relief medication, before she was transported to Mediclinic Tzaneen for further treatment.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
