GEORGES VALLEY: Truck overturns leaving one dead

A man was killed twhen a truck overturned on the R528 in Georges Valley.

A man was killed Thursday morning, August 30 when a truck overturned on the R528 in Georges Valley.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find a large truck lying on its roof, blocking part of the road. A load of bricks that had been on the back of the truck were spread across the scene,” ER24 said.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered the body of a man lying trapped inside the cab of the truck.

Rescue Services had to use specialized equipment to free the man from the vehicle.

Once freed, paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
