Love yourself this Valentine’s day
This year, take time to love yourself! You deserve to be pampered.
While many residents will be spending the week leading up to Valentine’s Day to plan the perfect evening with their significant other, many people will be alone that day.
This year, take time to love yourself! You deserve to be pampered.
Here are a few recipes to help you create your own Spa Day at your home.
For a wonderful peppermint foot soak all you’ll need is:
1 cup of Epsom salt, 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of sea salt, and 5 drops of peppermint essential oil.
To make this simply combine the Epsom salts, sea salt, oil, and baking soda.
Mix this with a fork and pack it into a clean jar with a lid.
Then when you feel like soaking your feet just pour a tablespoon of this in luke warm water and enjoy the soak!
Then, for a face mask all you need is 1/2 avocado, 1/2 very ripe banana, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and 2-3 drops of essential oil(if desired).
To make this peel the banana and avocado and place it into a bowl, then add olive oil and essential oil – the essential oil is optional.
Now you can mash the ingredients, making sure you mix everything well.
You can do this with a fork or if you have a food processor then that can work as well!
To use the mask you can simply apply it to your face – avoiding your eyes.
Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then pat your face clean with a damp towel.
If you would rather want to do something with a rejuvenating and clarifying effect then you could try this coffee face scrub.
The ingredients are simple:
1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon coffee, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Mix the ingredients, scrub, and rinse.
Repeat when necessary.
If you don’t have all those ingredients you can make a scrub out of coffee and honey as well.
For your hair you can use this effective and affordable hair mask recipe.
It has only got two ingredients!
Eggs and honey.
Use it in a ratio of 1 egg yolk to every teaspoon of honey.
To make this mask whisk the ingredients in a bowl, apply this mixture to your hair and massage into your scalp.
Leave it in for about an hour and then wash your hair with shampoo.
For dry and brittle hair you can heat a bit of coconut oil and apply it to your hair, cover it in a shower cap or make one out of cling wrap and leave it in for at least an hour.
Longer if your hair is very dry.
