Maake Plaza robbers arrested

Five suspects aged between 23 and 42 were arrested following a robbery which occurred at a shop in the Maake plaza on Thursday April 4.

“It is alleged that the armed suspects attacked employees at the shop while they were about to open for customers. In the process, the suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money using a Toyota quantum,” Coll Moatshe Ngeope said.

The suspects were arrested at the De-Oaks Village, about 60 kilometers from the crime scene.

According to Ngeope, two rifles including an AK 47, a 9mm pistol, the Toyota  Quantum which was used as a getaway vehicle and a cash amount witch is to be believed to be part of the robbed money.

“The origin of all the recovered items during these operations will be determined by ongoing Police investigations, Ngeope said.

The arrested suspects will appear before different Magistrate Courts soon.
