“We created a platform for tourism products owners to market their businesses. LTA continues to make a dent in fighting poverty by taking some products to the exhibition for exposure under its three year SMME incubation programme,” she said.

She urged products that have graduated from this programme to continue attending the show on their own as there is a lot to learn from it. Ndlovu said that the approach for 2019 highlighted heritage and culture cluster as the main strategic focus for marketing.

“We are very happy Limpopo is now the best domestic tourism destination of choice,” she said.

She said the LTA will continue to position Limpopo Province as a unique heritage and culture destination in Southern Africa.

“We are extremely excited to have managed to host a Limpopo pavilion for the first time at this show where everybody will be housed under one roof. We have in the past not displayed unity as we looked disjointed. The increase in size of our stand from 153sqm to 304sqm will allow all five regions of Limpopo to be represented in the new bigger Limpopo pavilion and LTA stand will incorporate all five regions within the unique stand design,” concluded Ndlovu.

In a bid to attract more business to the Limpopo stand, LTA brought famous Muvhago actors and musician, Sho Majozi to the stand. Africa’s Travel Indaba is one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar and has been going since 1979.

It showcases the widest variety of Southern Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international buyers and media from across the world. Africa’s Travel Indaba is owned by South African Tourism and organised by Synergy Business Events (Pty) Ltd.
