Phalaborwa: Manhunt launched after house robbery on plot

A manhunt is launched for the suspects involved in a house robbery that occurred at a plot outside Phalaborwa.

Colonel Moatshe Ngeope, Limpopo police spokesperson confirmed the robbery to Letaba Herald.

“It is alleged that in the early hours of Saturday, 18 May unknown suspects intruded into a family home of a 47-year-old man, his wife and child while sleeping.

Three armed suspects wearing balaclavas, demanded money from the victim while assaulting him.

According to Ngeope the suspects tied the couple with cables and robbed them of an undisclosed  amount of money.

The suspects searched the house and stole two laptops, one external hard drive, cellphones, shoes, bank cards and other accessories. They fled the scene with the victim’s  silver Ford Everest.

The couple managed to rescue themselves and notified the police  immediately.

The vehicle was later found abandoned, kilometers away from the scene along the R71 road, according to Ngeope.
