TZANEEN: Entrepreneurs ask for help in growing

A family set to bring a world of fun and entertainment to children around Tzaneen are asking for help in growing their business.

Nyiko Mathebula, from Ga-Matshwi village in Bolobedu says that he started a business with his twin-sister, Tinyiko Mathebula and cousin Portia Maluleke in August 2018.

They have an events, media production and entertainment company called ‘The Formative Cycle’ which sets out to bring fun and entertainment to underprivileged children in rural areas.

“Our first event took place on a Friday, December 21 2018 at Ga-Matshwi village and it was a fashion show.

The event was a huge success and the turn-out made us look into bringing more entertainment to our people,” stated Nyiko.

He told the LETABA HERALD that because their company is fairly new and without much to show for it, they are having difficulty getting funding for the projects they have in mind.

“We have approached a few companies but nothing has materialised from it.

We also appraoched individuals wheom we thought would have an interest in what we want to do, and see our vision too but that also did not work out as we expected.

People want to see the experience behind it but they aren’t willing to give us the platform for that,” exclaimed Nyiko.

With a business plan in mind and having tried to go the unconventional route to getting funding, Mathebula approached the HERALD hoping that their story could reach those with interest in doing things a little differently.

The aim and motivation of their company is to bring a culture experienced in towns and cities, to children living in the villages that cannot afford to go elsewhere to access them.

To donate to ‘The Formative Cycle’ or to find out more about the direction they are taking, you can contact Nyiko Mathebula on 063 756 5740.
