Multiple fires raging around Tzaneen
Fire and rescue services is currently battling multiple fires in the Greater Tzaneen and Greater Letaba Municipalities.
The Mopani District Municipality’s (MDM) Fire and Rescue Service is currently battling multiple fires in the Greater Tzaneen and Greater Letaba Municipalities.
The team is joined by the Letaba Fire Protection Association and Working on Fire.

“Two helicopters have been activated to assist in aerial firefighting. A house has burnt down at Deerpark. Ivory Camp structures burnt down at the Modjadji Nature Reserve in the Greater Letaba Municipality. There is fire at the New Reeds, Broederstroom and Agatha. The fire is contained at Dap Naude dam. The firefighting teams are on sites trying to contain the fires. The extent of the damage caused by the fires has not yet been determined, said Odas Ngobeni, spokesperson for MDM.
The municipality advises residents to report incidences of fire to the Disaster Management call centre on 015-306-7010.
