Clement develops translating software

A Phalaborwa man with a vision has developed his own translating software for all of the eleven official languages.

Software developer, Clement Chauke, is the founder of www.translateza.co.za which is fast being recognised as one of the convenient platforms for translating.

Chauke launched the site last year and so far has over 3000 words in the system.

His target market is learners, ordinary citizens and foreigners who want to familarise themselves with local languages when visiting the country.

His inspiration for starting his own software company came after seeing other young creatives developing software that benefit the community.

“After learning about Mark Zuckerberg’s inventions, I was inspired to also start something which can bring solutions to people.

“I started praying to God to give me ideas that can change lives.

“Eventually I got a revelation about a translating system.

“I started working on the project and although it wasn’t smooth sailing, I eventually managed to develop the know-how to get it from the ground,” Chauke explained.

The IT guru also visits schools and teaches them about his invention and shows them how it can make their lives easier.

He told the Herald that his long-term goal is for ‘translateza’ to be recognised globally.

The software has also been added to dictionaric.com/links which makes it easy for people all over the world to learn one of South Africa’s official languages.

After years of working for various institutions, he started his own IT company, C ICT TECH based in Phalaborwa.

He has a number of clients which he assists with their IT systems and develops their websites.
