Maruleng mayor meets with farmers to revive railway

Maruleng Local Municipality Mayor, Tsheko Musolwa and Director for Spatial Planning and Development and also as acting Municipal Manager, Nanki Hoaeane had a meeting with Hoedspruit farmers to find ways to revive the Transnet railway to enable them to export the goods from Hoedspruit to Durban hub.

“This initiative will improve the economy of Hoedspruit. The meeting concludes that relevant authority must be engaged to see that this vision will be attained.
“The farmers indicated that they are impressed with the vision the Mayor has embarked on since he took over the office.

The mayor and acting municipal manager indicated that engagements with the relevant authority is already at advanced stage and that a meeting with them will be held in due course.
“The community will be informed of the developments regarding this issue,” said Sody Magomane, Maruleng acting spokesperson.
