Troy out of danger
Troy Matthysen (16) from Kampersrus has his life back after his health has improved significantly.

Troy was diagnosed with Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA), an extremely rare disease that affects adolescent boys, at the end of 2021.
His father, Jeff, says that he can only thank God and everyone who helped with his son’s recovery. “He is now fully back at school. “He no longer has nose bleeds, and it looks like the tumour has ‘settled down’.” Jeff says Troy is now playing sports.

“He has also picked up some weight, which is a positive thing for him,” he says. Troy’s next doctor’s appointment is on December 12 for an MRI to check if the tumour has shrunk after the radiation. He says that no number of words can express how grateful he is to see his son being back to his normal life.
“God is really awesome, I have learned that no matter how much money you have, you should never forget to pray. God turned things around for us, and gave us a second chance,” he says.
