Nyiko’s book aims to inspire people to live a purposeful life

Being a minister, model, motivational speaker, and photographer was not enough for the local adventurer and avid cyclist, Nyiko ‘Mr Dynamix’ Masango.

This dynamic father has now added the title of author to his many traits. His autobiography, A Life That Chose Me, details his adventures, failures, and successes. Masango told the Herald that the book was a long time coming but he was waiting for the perfect time to write it. The title refers to his realisation that his life was somehow predestined as he was always drawn to doing certain things without choosing to live a certain way.

“The book is for everyone, young and old. My mission is to encourage everyone to pursue their God-given talents, gifts, and purpose because we are all created to fulfill a certain assignment or purpose,” he says.Throughout his life he has undertaken challenging adventures which include setting a new South African record in 2019 for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 12 hours to Gilman’s Point, which is 200m away from Uhuru, the highest point of the mountain.

A life that chose me, soon to be published.

Some of his other endeavours are cycling 3400km from Tzaneen to Tanzania, cycling from Musina to Cape Town, and walking from Tzaneen to Johannesburg. Despite all these successes he says being a father to his son, Prince, is his greatest achievement. A few years ago he went to court to have access to his son after he was not allowed to have a relationship with him. “My advice to my son is that he must never tell himself that he can’t achieve something without trying.

“Even if he tries and fails, he must do it until he succeeds. “The day I learned that nothing is impossible, that was when my life changed,” he adds. The book will be available on different platforms. Contact Masango at 082 732 9669.
